Music Therapy
After a long week of classes I thought tonight as a treat I would reward myself and have a play around with GarageBand again. This time I thought I’d make a music track. I used the loops etc that they have available and put them together to make this. It’s a bit repetitive towards the end but hey, not bad for a first attempt!

I have a real interest in ICT in music – I think there are many possibilities. This could be one of them! I think I might do this as my topic for next week!

Krizzia’s Learning Journey
Krizzia and Shirley make some really interesting points about learning. I like that they see learning as a wholistsic journey, something you begin and carry on through life. They acknowledge that many people contribute to the journey and also acknowledge that prior experience (baggage) is a vital component to the outcome of various tasks.
I totally agree with this. It reminds me of some of my own experiences of learning where the things that have challenged me have been completely different to those that others have learned in the same lesson – I think this is due to the prior experience that we carry.
Their video podcast has very effective use of images and video footage to describe their views on learning using metaphors. I also like that their video podcast seems to have a realistic picture of learning (not necessarily idealized). They remind viewers that learning may not always be easy, something I think that all educators must realise!

A metaphor for learning
This is my first attempt at making a video podcast. It’s a bit rushed and a bit dodgy, but hopefully it gives a little bit of an insight into my thoughts on teaching. Hopefully during the course of posting on this blog there will be a little bit more video podcasting with a sightly better quality!

My Greatest Passion: Podcasting with GarageBand
Today was my first attempt at using GarageBand for a podcast. It was a lot of fun!
I didn’t realise how many things you could do with the program and what an effective tool this could be in the classroom. My only problem was that there was a little too much background noise for my softer voice, but there it is! My first attempt at podcasting entitled “My Greatest Passion”.

Test Posting
Here I am having a go at posting on edublogs. It seems to be a relatively user friendly site, once I get my head around what I’m doing! Lots of nice themes to choose from (better than most other blog sites). How many things can I ramble on about while I get used to doing this?!
I am looking forward to getting back into the world of blogging , it’s been a while, but I do remember enjoying it last time I attempted this!
I’m quickly running out of things to write on this test post, as I have nothing meaningful as of yet to write! Hopefully though, in the near future there will be some interesting and though provoking information on readings to do with e-learning in the classroom and other relevant literature. I’m looking forward to tackling new technology and using a risk-taking approach to post things like podcasts (both visual and vocal)… good times to come I am sure.
